SPEED. LIGHT. DIRT. ASPHALT. SMOKE. MOUNTAINS. TRACKS. CURVES. COLORS. DRIVERS. MECHANICS. PAINTERS. DREAMERS.
Iāve loved cars ever since I bought my first one: a clapped-out ā86 Trans Am with purple ground effects. It had a custom toggle switch on the dashboard for neons, a 305 tuneport, and flip-up headlights. Oh, and it wreaked of gasoline. What more could any red-blooded American kid want?
Over the years I watched my dad restore classic muscle cars, then British touring cars, and now Japanese sports cars. I came to appreciate the thought that goes into elegant design, and the effort it takes to create a high performing ride. But most of all, I love the way cars bring people together. The stories they create, the bonds we form around them; they are woven into our lives.
Even today, Thursday nights are sacred on Coachlight Street, where we turn wrenches, sip beers, and trade stories about life and cars at my dadās shop.
It only made sense that I harness my love for photography and use it to bring this connection to life.
I love the challenge of beating the sunrise, shooting in the rain, or working against an environment beyond my control. I sometimes work with a light wand, but nothing beats what mother nature can create for you.
Thank you for reading this. Have a look around. I hope you find something that speaks to you, and let me know if you have any questions! -Mike
